As we observe our nation’s birthday, and everday, it’s important to remember the proper way to salute the American flag.
The U.S. Flag Code, Title 4, Section 9, states the protocol for saluting the American flag by citizens, those in uniform, and non-citizens:
1. Americans should stand at attention, facing the flag, with the right hand over the heart.
2. When not in uniform, men should remove any non-religous headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the right hand being over the heart.
3. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute.
4. Those who are not U.S. citizens should stand at attention.
Regards for all your efforts that you have put in this. Very interesting info.
