Spaghetti is one of the foods at the top of the “difficult foods to eat” list. Although I do not recommend ordering spaghetti at an important business meeting, job interview, or first date, please do not be afraid to enjoy this wonderful Italian dish in public.
Even though one of the most romantic scenes from the Disney movie, Lady and the Tramp, was over a bowl of spaghetti, there is nothing attractive about seeing your date or coworker with a strand of spaghetti dangling from their mouth.
To avoid dangling spaghetti and sauce stained faces, use a spoon and fork.
1. Hold the spoon in your left hand, (right if you’re left handed), as though you were holding a pencil. The face of the spoon will be facing your fork to push the spaghetti on to the fork.
2. Hold the fork, with spaghetti on it, against the face of the spoon and twirl the fork in a clockwise direction until all the spaghetti is tightly wrapped around the fork.
You may now eat the spaghetti without a fear of the “dangling strand”.
